Muriya, Oman’s leading tourism development company recently supported a beach clean-up drive organized by Clean Up Oman and the Filipino Community (FILCOM) at the company’s Salalah Beach destination. Muriya disposed of approximately 1000 liters of waste including plastic bags, bottles, drink cans, pieces of wood, and other discarded items, collected from the seafront areas.
Commenting on the event, Issam Al Barwani, Senior Director of Destination Operations, at Salalah Beach at Muriya said, “Salalah Beach is an upcoming destination that attracts multitudes of visitors every year, the drive helped maintain the beauty of the beach and preserve our environment. After the huge success of this event, we welcome FILCOM’s plans to conduct this clean-up three times a year.” The Juweira Boutique Hotel, part of Muriya’s Integrated Tourism Complex (ITC) Salalah Beach, provided refreshments for over 40 participants. Muriya practices green initiatives that have a direct impact on the environment and the local Community.
